The ITHERM 2008 Organizing Committee is now soliciting proposals for Pre-Conference Short Courses to be taught on the day before the start of the Conference technical program (May 28th, 2008). We seek proposals for half Day Short Courses (4 hours) to be taught by one or more instructors. The topic of the course can be in any area relevant to the Science, Engineering, Design, and Practice of Thermal and Thermo-mechanical Phenomena in MEMS, NEMS, packaging manufacturing and Electronic Systems. The intention of the half day course is to be an introductory subject for the attendees who would like to gain a better understanding in one of the above subjects. In addition, the organizing committee is soliciting two-hour tutorials covering the emerging technologies in the areas of MEMS, NEMS, electronic, and optical applications. Criteria for selecting the courses and tutorials will include relevance of the proposed topic as well as a demonstrated expertise and experience of the instructors. We highly encourage the submission of joint proposals from industry and academia.

Deadline for Proposal Submission is December 30th , 2007. Final selected Short Courses and Tutorials will be announced by January 20th, 2008. PLEASE MAKE SURE IN THE SUBJECT YOU RIGHTH IN SUBJECT ``ITHERM 2008 PROPOSED TOUTORIAL��
The proposal should contain the following information:
� Short Course/Tutorial Title
� Instructor Name(s)
� Course Description
� Time needed to conduct the proposed topic (2 hrs or 4 hrs)
� Statement of Intended Audience and Prerequisite Knowledge Level Expected of Students
� Outline of Course Preferably in One-Hour Increments
� Instructors' Previous History in Offering This or Similar Courses at Other Venues
In addition to the proposal, please attach a short form CV for each instructor, including a demonstration of relevant expertise by education and training, publications and presentations, and experience in course instruction.
Finally, the selected courses need to be submitted to the ITHERM administration in a soft copy (pdf speaker handouts two per page) by March 31st , 2008 in order to prepare the notes/CD for ITHERM 2008 attendees.
